LetterStack — Daily Word Guessing Game

About LetterStack

LetterStack is a daily word-guessing puzzle. Each day brings a new hidden English word. The word length varies — it can be anywhere from 3 to 8 letters — and the number of attempts adjusts accordingly: 4 attempts for 3-letter words, 5 for 4-letter words, and 6 for longer words. After each guess, tiles change colour to show how close you are: green means the right letter in the right place, yellow means the letter appears elsewhere in the word, and dark means the letter is not in the word at all.

How to Play

Type a valid English word of the correct length and press Enter. You can use the on-screen keyboard or a physical keyboard. The game evaluates repeated letters correctly using a two-pass algorithm, so a letter will never be marked yellow if the target word does not contain it.

Scoring

You win by guessing the word within the allowed attempts. Your streak counts consecutive days you solve the puzzle. Hard mode adds the constraint that confirmed letters must be reused in subsequent guesses.

Strategy Tips

  • Start with a word rich in common vowels and consonants.
  • Pay attention to repeated letters — the evaluation handles them correctly.
  • In hard mode, plan ahead: confirmed letters lock in fast.

Accessibility

LetterStack supports keyboard navigation, screen readers, and high-contrast mode. All keyboard keys are at least 44px high on mobile. Colour is never the only indicator of correctness — tile states are also announced to assistive technology.
