Sources and Licences

LESSGAME DAILY is built on open and public-domain material. This page lists the sources behind each game and the terms under which they are used.

Word Lists (LetterStack)

The answer and guess lists for LetterStack are drawn from public-domain English word lists. No proprietary dictionary is used. Words are filtered for appropriateness, common usage, and consistent spelling.

Melodies (MelodyFlash)

MelodyFlash uses compositions that are in the public domain. The melodies are rendered synthetically in-browser using the Web Audio API — no copyrighted recordings are used. Each melody is credited in-game and in the archive.

Facts (Fact Duel)

Fact Duel comparisons are drawn from open datasets, including:

  • World Bank Open Data
  • United Nations data portals
  • Other public-domain and openly-licensed factual datasets

Figures are rounded for gameplay and are current as of the dataset snapshot bundled with the current content version.

Vocabulary & Embedding Model (WordRadar)

WordRadar uses an open embedding model to compute semantic similarity between guesses and the secret word. The vocabulary list and embedding vectors are bundled with the app so that no query is sent to an external service during play.

Licence Summary

All game code and design are original to LessGame. Third-party material is used only where it is public domain or under an open licence that permits use in a free, ad-supported product. Full attributions for individual items appear in-game where applicable.
