WordRadar — Daily Semantic Word Game

About WordRadar

WordRadar is a daily semantic word-search game. There is one secret word each day. You submit guesses, and each one receives a rank showing how semantically close it is to the secret. Rank 1 means you have found the word. Lower ranks are closer.

How to Play

Type a word and press Enter or tap the Submit button. You'll see its semantic rank — how close it is to the secret word. Guesses are sorted from closest to least close by default, with an option to switch to chronological order. Duplicate guesses are rejected, and unknown words are flagged with a helpful message.

Ranking System

Ranks are colour-coded: turquoise for the top 100, yellow for 101 to 1,000, orange for 1,001 to 5,000, and neutral for anything beyond. Numeric ranks and progress bars are always shown alongside colour, so the game never relies on colour alone.

Hints

After 5 guesses, the part of speech is revealed. After 10, the broad category. After 20, the first letter. Using hints is recorded in your results.

Strategy Tips

  • Start with broad, common words to establish a semantic neighbourhood.
  • Pay attention to rank changes — a big jump means you are getting closer.
  • Use the part-of-speech hint to narrow your search space significantly.

Accessibility

WordRadar uses ARIA live regions for guess feedback. The Submit button has an accessible label. Rank information is conveyed through text and colour, never colour alone. All interactive elements meet the 44px minimum target height.
